Japan’s largest computer services provider announced this week that it has adjusted it’s profit target for this fiscal year by 42 percent, and they blame the tragic floods in the fall of 2011 in Thailand that paralyzed most of the worlds hard drive production and many other electronics factories were also forced to shut down in Thailand as they were fully submerged under water.
Original estimates by the Japanese computer giant suggested a profit of ¥60 billion ($790 million) in the fiscal year ending March 31st 2012. However the latest estimates suggest that the net income will instead be down to ¥35 billion ($459 million).
Fujitsu President Masami Yamamoto said last month that the company may miss its target to sell 6.6 million personal computers this fiscal year after floods in Thailand delayed supplies of hard-disk drives.
